Ko Phi Phi Islands
Ko Phi Phi Island lies around 1 hour by speedboat from Chalong Bay in Phuket. Ko Phi Phi got famous since Hollywood superstar Leonardo Di Caprio participated in "The Beach" movie based on the novel of Alex Garland. In deed the scenic surroundings and the white sand beaches are legendary. The Tsunami 2004 flattend Ton Sai Bay and most of the island's infrastructure. Ko Phi Phi has been rebuild and nothing reminds on the 2004 catastrophe. There are no cars or motorbikes at Ko Phi Phi Don the only habitated island. Phi Phi is very popular among backpackers and youngsters from all around the world. Unfortunately the tremendously impact of tourists during highseason, specialy coming by daytrip excursions to visit "Maya Bay" (the bay where the movie was produced) can be avoided while visiting Maya Bay in the later afternoon hours when daytrip tourist are on the way back to Phuket and Krabi.
